The Pipette tool is a tool for the MultiPurposeSampler MPS. It allows substances to be processed using pipette tips. The transportation of vials with magnetic caps is also possible. The pipette tool is handled by the MPS in exactly the same way as any other tool. The system is controlled using the MAESTRO software. Within the software itself, all sample preparation steps can be prepped ahead to save time.

Functional principle of the pipette tool

Using the tool enables the MPS to use pipette tips. At the bottom of the tool is a magnet for the transportation of vials with magnetic caps. The MPS moves to a tray containing pipette tips and the pipette tool picks up a pipette tip. The pipette tip enables the MPS to draw up and eject liquids. The MPS disposes of the used pipette tip in a waste container. For the subsequent run, the MPS will use a new pipette tip. The steps that make use of the pipette tool can be integrated at any point within the automated sample preparation process using the MPS. They can be combined with the DeCapper steps. When working with an LC, injection into a special injection valve is also possible.

Benefits

During the automated sample preparation process, substances can be processed using pipette tips. Using single-use pipette tips prevents carryover and largely removes the need to perform time-consuming rinsing steps. The magnet located on the tool enables the transportation of vials. Thanks to the MAESTRO software, controlling the system as a whole is simple and intuitive.

The Pipette tool can be used with 200-µL and 1000-µL pipette tips.
