The analysis of PFAS in water is done usually by LC-MS, either by direct injection or following a solid phase extraction of the water sample.
The GERSTEL solution presented here uses online SPE with automated cartridge exchange to combine the advantages of the two approaches. The easy-to-use method allows the robust determination of 20 individual PFAS down to 1 ng/L, needed for monitoring the sum of PFAS in drinking water according to the EU drinking water directive.
The method can be applied not only to drinking water but also to other water types, give the efficient clean-up using weak anion exchange cartridges.
