Taking responsibility - is part of our corporate philosophy. We demonstrate this not only through our daily actions in our dealings with employees, business partners and suppliers, but also through our social commitment.

Eberhard Gerstel Award

Since 2010, the "Separation Science" working group in the German Chemical Society (GDCh) has awarded the Eberhard Gerstel Prize. The prize, endowed with 2,000 euros and donated by Gerstel, is awarded every two years to an outstanding scientist in the field of analytical separation techniques.

The prize was awarded for the first time on March 24, 2010, during the Analytica Conference at Analytica 2010 in Munich.

Further information and an overview of the award winners can be found here.

Property is an obligation. Its use should serve the common good. For family businesses in particular, this philosophy is both an obligation and an incentive. After all, it is our responsibility to leave our children and grandchildren an intact and healthy environment. Climate and environmental protection has therefore been an important aspect of our entrepreneurial activities and our actions for GERSTEL since before yesterday.

Gerstel Headquarters

The reduction of CO² emissions and the promotion of renewable energies is therefore one of our strategic corporate goals. In addition, we take care to develop environmentally friendly products and continuously check whether raw materials can be replaced by more environmentally friendly, sustainable products.

We have already set the course towards greater sustainability and climate neutrality of our company with various measures in the past:

In 2007, our company's headquarters was built as a new building. The latest standards such as geothermal energy, intelligent lighting control and an energy-efficient lighting control system were installed.

In 2010, we received an award from the Ministry of the Environment of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia within the framework of Ökoprofit.

We take care to use less paper and recycle old paper throughout our operations and in all work processes.

Our machinery meets the latest energy standards. Continuous investment in machinery ensures that we replace old machines.

Our vehicle fleet

Our vehicle fleet is continuously expanded and renewed. As far as possible, we rely on environmentally friendly and energy-efficient drives using electric and hybrid vehicles as well as natural gas-powered service vehicles. All our employees are offered the option of leasing a bicycle for their commute to work.

Packing material take back

We undertake to take back all packaging material included in the scope of delivery free of charge, reimbursing the buyer the return shipping costs.
