Instrumental analysis would be impossible without analytical technology. And instrumental analysis would not produce reliable results without skilled users. Context-related evaluation is important in order to make sense of results, but when causes and sources of odors need to be determined by olfactory detection in the context of GC analysis, subjective perception also plays a major role. This is not a trivial matter; on the contrary, it is a task that requires specific know-how, skills and experience.
Content
In this three day workshop, a structured introduction is given to olfactory detection. The hands-on part is built around training in the perception and description of fragrances as well as use of the GERSTEL Olfactory Detection Port (ODP) in combination with GC separation.
Who should attend
The workshop is designed for users from the food, flavour, fragrance, R&D and special chemicals fields as well as for contract laboratories that perform olfactory detection analysis.
