GERSTEL technology helps scientists sniff out Parkinson's disease smell
BBC reports: Joy Milne could smell her husband’s Parkinson's disease years before he was diagnosed. Now Joy helps scientists develop a diagnostic testing procedure.
Joy Milne could smell her husband’s Parkinson's disease 10 years before he was diagnosed. Joy is now using her incredible sense of smell to help scientists develop a diagnostic testing procedure.
They are using GERSTEL technology to identify olfactory markers: A MultiPurpose Sampler (MPS) with Dynamic headspace (DHS) coupled to an Agilent Technologies GC/QTOF instrument and a GERSTEL Olfactory Detection Port (ODP) with voice recognition software.
