Industry Prize Award for GERSTEL DHS
The GERSTEL Dynamic Headspace DHS was awarded the Industry Prize 2008 of the german "Initiative Mittelstand", an initiative for medium-sized companies.
Automated Dynamic Headspace DHS efficiently extracts and concentrates VOCs from liquid or solid samples placed in standard Headspace vials. The sample is thermostated and agitated while the headspace is purged with a controlled flow of inert gas, providing controlled and efficient extraction conditions. Sample temperatures can be selected from 10 °C to 200 °C. Lowering the temperature provides a means of reducing the amount of water vapor released and ultimately retrapped and helps avoid sample degradation. The DHS station holds a replaceable and thermostated adsorbent- or sorbent filled tube used for analyte concentration. Aftrer trapping, the tube is transported to the Thermal Desorption Unit for thermal desorption.
